Insulation Removal

Insulation removal can be vital for the health and safety of your environment after your insulation has been damaged by fire, water, mold, rodents and other pests. At Wentzel’s Insulation, we perform insulation removal with great care to prevent your home or building from contamination by mold, mildew, rodent droppings, body oils, urine, feces, and blood-born bacteria. To ensure your safety, we use state-of-the-art equipment to remove all insulation and debris.

Attic Insulation Removal and Replacement

Unfortunately, your attic’s insulation often attracts a family of raccoons, squirrels, and other wanted guests. If you’ve managed to remove an undesirable houseguest from your attic, you’re probably aware that there’s more work to be done. Most likely your insulation has been scratched, chewed, shredded and defecated on, the result is mold and bacteria which is very dangerous to your health.

At Wentzel’s Insulation, we’re here to help you get your attic insulation back in shape. The first step is sealing up any openings that could lead to more rodents in the future. Once holes are patched, any damaged wiring and duct work must be repaired immediately. Damaged wiring is a fire risk and damaged duct work will lead to higher energy bills and moisture in the ductwork.

Since most homeowners don’t realize they have a pest problem until it has spun out of control, the attic insulation is usually in need of complete removal and replacement. When replacing your attic insulation, we offer three choices: spray foam insulation, blown insulation and batt insulation. The best option is closed cell spray foam insulation. Since closed cell foam is composed of tiny cells filled with a non-combustible gas, it helps to seal out air and moisture, and eliminate noise pollution. Since spray foam insulation is generally comprised of non-nutritional substances, it has little appeal to burrowing insects. In addition, since the foam hardens after application, it’s less appealing to rodents, who prefer soft insulation for nesting.

Wentzel’s insulation will make sure your attic is in good condition no matter why type of damage has been sustained from fire, water, mold, mildew, and rodents. We will:

  • Close potential rodent entryways
  • Secure electrical lines and outlets
  • Secure duct work
  • Remove contaminated insulation
  • Properly install new energy efficient insulation.
