Since closed cell foam is composed of tiny cells filled with a non-combustible gas, it helps to seal out air and moisture, and eliminate noise pollution. Since spray foam insulation is generally comprised of non-nutritional substances, it has little appeal to burrowing insects. In addition, since the foam hardens after application, it’s less appealing to rodents, who prefer soft insulation for nesting.
